GREEN DAY
Zespół powstał z inicjatywy obecnego gitarzysty i wokalisty, Billiego Joe Armstronga oraz basisty Mike'a Dirnta. Oboje mieli wtedy po 15 lat. W 1990 roku miejsce Johna Kiffmeyera, znanego również jako Al Sobrante, zajął nowy perkusista, Tre Cool.
Zespół pierwotnie nazywał się Sweet Children, jednak po konflikcie z lokalnym zespołem Sweet Baby został przechrzczony na Green Day, co oznacza dzień spędzony na paleniu trawki.
